Scientific Evidence: Studies of short term effects of Glucosamine show that there are anti-inflammatory properties and lead to temporary relief of pain and stiffness associated with osteoarthritis. Studies of longer term benefits have yet to be conclusively proven however data has been promising enough to justify a long-term study. This study, sponsored by the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases and the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, is just beginning and may provide conclusive evidence of long term benefits.
