The term "Standardized Extract" means a particular herb has been prepared through a scientific extraction process until it contains a guaranteed amount of the active ingredient. To prepare a standardized extract, a manufacturer follows a specific protocol that delivers an identifiable amount of active ingredient into the end mixture of compounds. In many of our Standardized Extracts, the standardized extract of the plant is combined with the whole herb powder of the same plant. The standardized extract is of a guaranteed strength and consistent amount of active ingredient. Whole Herb Powder of the plant, however, contains the original and natural orchestration of compounds that have not been subjected to the extraction process. When the Whole Herb Powder is then combined with a Standardized Extract, the resulting combination works synergistically to provide maximum health support.
